Excitment Building As Heineken Cup Returns

The 2013/14 Heineken Cup campaign gets underway this weekend with all four home provinces in action.

First up on Friday night are Connacht and Ulster, who both have home ties against Saracens and Leicester respectively. Although currently riding a four game losing streak, Connacht, captained by the returning Michael Swift, will fancy their chances in front of a passionate crowd at The Sportsgrounds.

Ulster entertain Leicester boosted by the news that the influential Ruan Pienaar has put pen to paper on a new three year contract extension.

Saturday afternoon sees Munster take centre stage. The men in red make the trip to Scotland to take on an Edinburgh side currently rooted to the foot of the RaboDirect PRO12 table. Although having recovered from a concussion suffered against Leinster, captain Peter O'Mahony will be rested for the game.

Later that evening, Leinster will take to the pitch in what is a tough away tie against the Ospreys. Brian O'Driscoll is unlikely to feature through injury, with Brendan Macken being mooted as a possible replacement in the side.

Should Macken feature it would be his first appearance in the Heineken Cup for the side, having had some solid outings in the PRO12 already this campaign.

Leinster have met Ospreys already this season in the league, an entertaining 29-29 draw at the RDS the outcome last time.

As always, Inpho will be present at all four games, bringing you a great selection of shots from each contest. Additionally, you can follow @inphosports on twitter to see the shots that tell the story from each game.
